The Beginning

The Story of Josephine, A MGA Restoration

These are the photos of Jo when I found her on Ebay and when I'd picked her up in Grants Pass Oregon.   As you can see, she looks pretty good as she was.  As mention before, I could have done a little work on the brakes and other minor areas and had her to the point where she would be drivable.

However, it was not hard to see that other more extensive work would be required to have her really running great.  For one thing, as you will see in other photos, there was over 50 years of road dirt (and a fair amount of Oregon clay) built up all over the place.  That and the home-installed shag carpet was enough for me to decide to do a major overhaul.

Fortunately, and by pure luck, there is very little rust and the frame is in great shape.  The only issue I have had to deal with to get her titled in Idaho is that the engine in her is not the original engine.  That's not what you would want when your intent is to keep her as original as possible, but when Oregon used the engine number for the title and the current engine number does not match that, Idaho had some issues about issuing me a title for Idaho.  We, however, got it worked out and she is now titled in Idaho with the body ID number.
